The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) got off to a weak start at the Indonesian Stock Exchange here Friday morning on profit taking moves. The JKSE index declined 15.02 points or 0.41 percent to 3,721.24 points and LQ45 index lost 3.97 points or 0.60 percent to 662.11 points.
"The IHSG failed to move upward as the proft taking moves have continued over the past two days," Hendri Effendi, a research analyst, said here Friday.
The Indonesian stocks were also affected by the slumping down in the regional bourses, he said. Meanwhile, the rupiah weakened against the US dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market here Friday morning.
The Indonesian currency traded Rp9,002-Rp9,015 per US dollar, down 53 points from Rp8,949-Rp9,039 per US dollar at the market’s close a day earlier.
