The women smiled and spoke succinctly, but Ms Solo revealed that their demeanor was more linked to the fact that there were drunk from the night before.
'When we were done partying, we got out of our nice dresses, got back into our stadium coats and, at 7 a.m., with no sleep, went on the Today Show drunk,' she told ESPN.
'Needless to say, we looked like hell!'
The most memorable part of the interview is when a clearly exhausted Ms Solo calls the Olympics the World Cup, before quickly correcting herself.

The star goalkeeper calls that detail her 'Olympics secret.'
Her comments still pale in comparison to javelin competitor Breaux Greer, who told the magazine he had sex with three women every day at at the 2000 Olympics.
He said that the sex was the only way for him to keep his calm during the competition. Two of the women were fellow Olympians, a pole vaulter and a hurdler, while the other was just on vacation.
It seems the organizers of the event know very well what's going on and in 2000, they packed the place with 70,000 condoms. It wasn't enough, however, and they had to order 20,000 more. Now, 100,000 condoms are on hand every year.

Skier Carrie Sheinberg told the magazine that nothing is sacred at the Olympics. She said that in 1994, some German bobsledders tried to trade her their gold medals for some 'group fun.'
'They made it clear that they'd trade me their gold for all kinds of other favors. I said jokingly, "Thanks, but Tommy Moe has a medal. I'll play with his,"' Ms Sheinberg said.
Other players told ESPN that orgies are common place as are all kinds of debauchery. It is even a tradition for athletes to be wasted for the closing ceremony, drinking before, during and after the seminal event.
